This project is located on farmland near a big natural waterbody and not far from a suburban area of Baltimore. The homeowner had an existing island in her driveway. She was looking to incorporate native plants and create a beautiful space as a vital habitat for pollinators like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, who play a crucial role in the ecosystem by facilitating plant reproduction. I incorporated native wildflowers, shrubs, and grasses, attracting diverse pollinators. The garden sustains these essential insects and birds and adds a touch of beauty and ecological value to the home's landscape. The project embodies a commitment to mindful land stewardship, highlighting the importance of creating pollinator-friendly spaces even within the confines of a suburban environment. This small but significant effort contributes to the overall health of the local ecosystem and showcases the potential for urban spaces to play a role in supporting biodiversity.
